Fire Prevention & Inspection Program

The Fire Department, in partnership with North Fayette Township’s Community Development Department, oversees the township’s Fire Prevention Inspection Program. This initiative ensures that all fire and life safety systems in commercial properties—such as fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, emergency signs, and lighting—are properly tested and maintained for occupant safety.
Originally, the program prioritized assembly-type occupancies, including restaurants, bars, hotels, schools, and daycares. However, with the addition of fire inspectors who also respond to emergency calls, the program has expanded to include a wider range of commercial properties, such as retail stores.
For more information about the Fire Prevention Inspection Program, please contact the Coordinator of Fire Prevention Chief Gary Hamilton at 724-693-3081.
